My plan and vision for the club

As Secretary of Outreach I promise to the club that I will bring clarity and accessibility for our members and increase our club’s visibility with our school community and the broader world of political leaders. I promise that I will work hand-in-hand alongside the others in leadership to make sure that our shared goal of always growing and improving the club is attained.

I will make sure that communication between leadership and all members of the club is clear and accessible so that everyone has a voice in this club. I will advocate tirelessly to potential speakers for our events. I will make sure that our club is visible at a wider scale in the school and work towards attracting new members. I will make sure that new members feel welcome and informed when they join the club.

I think we need to focus on two key goals: awareness, and engagement.

Awareness ¶

We need officials, leaders and others in our extended community to be aware of us. I intend to accomplish this through persistent outreach and increase our use of social media.

• I will make sure that our social media accounts are engaging and informative by posting consistently.

• I will improve our website’s design and make sure that it seamlessly incorporates conference resources and clear information directly from leadership.

• I will work with the Secretary of the Beacon Model Congress Conference to reach out to more schools to join our conferences and make sure information moves smoothly between schools.

• I will work with the Secretary of Treasury to ensure that information regarding fundraisers and merchandise are well circulated in and out of the club.

Engagement ¶

We need our members to feel welcome and to ease their path to greater involvement. I intend to get there by creating consistent communication and open dialogue with our members.

• I will send out our weekly announcements in a timely manner and keep them concise and informative.

• I will find new and innovative forms of communication that are simple and accessible for all members of the club.

• I will organize the Google Classroom and make sure the information on it is accessible and coordinated for ease of use.

• I will work with the Secretaries of Activities and Conferences to ensure that their information is available to members exactly when they need it.

• I will make sure that we are able to maintain and reinforce the strong communication between members of the club which we have developed over the past year while we shift back to in-person learning.

I will work with the entirety of leadership to make sure that our decisions and affairs are available to all members of Model Congress, as to build a stronger bridge between leadership and the rest of the club.
